2021-2022 Scholarship program available.

The City of La Puente awards scholarships to high school seniors, adult education students, and Veterans returning home from service to attend school. The Scholarship Program was created to expand educational opportunities for students who have demonstrated financial need, good character, and a strong desire to obtain a college education; but without financial assistance, would not be able to attend. (Guidelines) Scholarships will be awarded to La Puente residents who meet the scholarship criteria in the application packet.

Application packets will be available beginning March 15, 2021 and may be obtained at local schools, on the City’s website (www.lapuente.org), at the La Puente Youth Learning Activity Center. All applications and supporting documentation must be received by Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. for the following Fall Semester of the academic year. All applications and supporting documentations will be reviewed. Recommendations will be made to City Council in May 2021.

The awarded scholarship money can be used towards tuition and books. The scholarships will be paid directly to the school where the applicant has been accepted or reimbursed to the student upon receipt of proof of expenditure. Once awarded a scholarship, a scholarship recipient will not be eligible for future scholarships from the City.
